Upper North Island

Springboard

 

Springboard's boxing program engages 169 rangatahi, fostering resilience and self-respect. This support will help the club continue offering a safe, supportive environment where vulnerable youth can develop discipline and positive life skills under the mentorship of trusted adults.
 
This grant of $2,500 will provide essential equipment, enhancing the program’s impact on young people’s fitness and sense of belonging. The new equipment will ensure the program’s sustainability and growth, benefiting the community by reducing youth crime and promoting overall well-being.

City Cricket Club, one of the largest community cricket clubs in Northland, serves over 123 members from diverse backgrounds. CCC aspires to foster a strong sense of community, making cricket accessible to more Kiwis, promoting physical, mental, and social benefits for all members.
 
This grant of $1,631 will fund essential equipment, including cricket balls, stumps, gloves, and bat grips, ensuring all players have the necessary gear to participate safely and effectively. This support will enhance the club’s ability to provide exceptional coaching and make cricket accessible to more Kiwis, especially those facing financial barriers.

Fairfield Amateur Athletics Club

 

Fairfield Amateur Athletics Club (FAAC) is the largest children’s athletics club in Waikato, providing a safe and supportive environment for over 300 tamariki. FAAC aim to enable children to thrive in their athletic pursuits and enjoy memorable experiences. 
 
This grant of $3,095 will cover the hire costs of Porritt Stadium, ensuring the club can continue to offer high-quality athletic programs and maintain its specialist facilities. The grant will also help the club invest in new equipment and volunteer training, further enhancing the overall quality of the program and benefiting the wider community.

United Matamata Squash Club

 

United Matamata Squash Club, dedicated to fostering the game of squash for all ages and skill levels, seeks support to purchase new squash balls. This grant will help grow membership and create development opportunities for men, women, children, and youth in the local community.
 
This grant of $1,000 will ensure the club can continue to provide quality facilities and equipment for club days, interclub matches, and tournaments. By enhancing the club’s resources, the grant will support a healthy, social sporting environment, improve sustainability, and encourage community participation.

This grant of $2,700 will fund essential uniforms, including swim caps and jackets, reducing the financial barriers to participation. This enables all swimmers to have access to necessary gear, enhancing their training and competition experience.

Westshore Sea Scouts, a vibrant and community-focused troop, provides invaluable experiences for young people through various water-based activities. This grant of $4,555 will fund new life jackets, ensuring the safety of all participants during their weekly sessions. The new equipment will also benefit other community groups that utilize the Scouts’ facilities, enhancing overall community engagement and safety.

Martinborough Squash Club

 

Martinborough Squash Club, located in the small rural town of Martinborough, serves the South Wairarapa district and its surrounding communities. This support will enhance safety, skill acquisition, and accessibility for the club’s 60 junior members.
 
This grant of $1,157 will be used to replace worn-out junior equipment, including squash rackets and safety eyewear. By providing essential equipment, the grant will ensure that all children can participate in and enjoy the sport, fostering physical fitness, agility, and social skills in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Palmerston Cricket Club has expanded to include a new 4th grade social side, necessitating additional equipment to ensure all players can participate safely and enjoy the game. This support will alleviate financial pressure on the club, allowing them to focus on fostering a love for cricket among their diverse membership.
 
This grant of $1,516 will provide essential gear, including cricket bags, batting pads, gloves, and helmets. The new equipment will help the club continue to grow and offer more opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds to engage in the sport.

Kairakau Development Society

 

Kairakau Development Society, with its 82 dwellings, currently has limited recreational facilities.
 
This grant of $2,500 will fund the construction of a basketball half court with a solid block back wall, which can also be used for tennis and cricket. This new facility will provide residents with more exercise options and encourage younger community members to spend time outdoors, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Porirua City Tag Module Inc

 

Porirua City Tag Module Inc, established in 1993, has grown to involve around 2000 players across various grades.
 
This grant of $1,349 will be used to purchase whistles for both Senior and Junior Referees, ensuring smooth and efficient game management. This support will help maintain the club’s commitment to keeping youth participation free and adult fees affordable, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players.


Upper South Island

Motueka Swim Club

 

Motueka Swim Club, a dedicated rural club, serves 89 enthusiastic swimmers aged 8 to competitive levels. With two paid coaches and strong community support, the club offers vital swimming training and water safety education.
 
This grant of $1,200 will enable the club to provide 10 scholarships, ensuring that children who face financial challenges can participate. This support will enhance their water confidence, fitness, and social connections, fostering a safer and more inclusive swimming environment.

Marlborough Childrens Athletics

 

Marlborough Children’s Athletics, a grassroots club for kids aged 5 to 15, is dedicated to fostering a love for athletics through fun and structured programs.
 
The grant of $1,775 will provide essential new equipment, enabling over 100 children to fully participate and excel in club activities. This support ensures that young athletes are well-prepared for interclub competitions and can proudly represent their club, enhancing their skills and confidence.

Peninsula Harbour Cricket Club and Tai Tapu Junior Cricket Club have a strong partnership, providing excellent opportunities for their 70 junior and 35 adult members.
 
This grant of $1,500 will be used to purchase a Reel Mower, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality grass wickets at Tai Tapu domain. This will benefit hundreds of children and adults, enhancing their cricket experience and supporting the clubs’ commitment to providing top-notch facilities for all members.

Golden Bay Association Football club

 

The rural football club at the top of the South Island has seen significant growth, especially with more girls joining and a decline in rugby participation.
 
 
This grant of $3,236 will provide much-needed equipment, ensuring all teams have the resources to train effectively. This support will enhance the training experience for the children, allowing them to develop their skills and enjoy the sport fully, despite the challenges of frequent long-distance travel for competitions.

Buller Hockey, a rural club with 86 registered members, is dedicated to fostering a love for hockey in its community. This grant of $1,500 will cover turf fees, uniforms, sticks, hockey balls, and training equipment, ensuring that all players, especially juniors, can participate without additional costs. The grant will significantly impact the club’s ability to continue offering hockey to the community, despite recent financial challenges.

Westport Netball Club, with its rich history and strong community ties, has shown remarkable resilience and dedication.
 
This grant of $1,366 will provide new uniforms, replacing those lost in the 2021 floods, and support the club’s growth. Ensuring all players have proper attire, allowing the club to expand its teams and continue fostering a sense of unity and pride.

This grant of $2,000 will fund essential new equipment, including balls, training bibs, and inflatable goals, ensuring that all players can participate fully and safely. The grant will help Handball Otago maintain its positive impact on the community, promoting physical activity and engagement without financial barriers.

This grant of $7,728 will fund essential equipment, including gazebos, starting blocks, a high jump cover, fitness kits, and hammers. The new equipment will also help the club maintain its high standards and foster a sense of community and pride among members.
